What is a Living Will?

A living will is quite different than a last will and testament. A living will deals with issues that can arise if you have a persistent vegetative state or you are at the end stage of a terminal condition and you do not have competency. Many people describe a living will as a tool used to pull the plug. Do you want to be kept artificially alive, artificially fed, or artificially hydrated during those times when you’re not able to speak to it? A living will is the estate planning tool that you would use to express your particular wishes in those regards.
